The Hotel Serras Located at number 9 Paseo Colón in Barcelona, it has a rich past linked to illustrious figures such as Pablo Picasso who began his career as a painter in this same building, where he housed his first studio in 1896. It was in this building where he painted "Science and Charity” one of the most recognized works of his early years as an artist.
The Marcasal team has been responsible for making the furniture upholstery in aged leather and velvet for the common areas of the hotel. In the rooms where the color white predominates to give light to the whole, textiles such as linen have been used for the curtains and nets and cotton for the bedding.
A different special color palette has been used for each floor of the building, ranging from taupe grey, petrol blue and mustard, a color reminiscent of the characteristic luminosity that “Febo” brings to the Catalan capital.
In a tribute to the city, the headboards of the beds have been made with hydraulic tiles, a characteristic element of Catalan modernism, which directly introduces the guest to the culture and architecture of the city. In the bathrooms, two circular mirrors have been placed reminiscent of the portholes of the ships that moor in the port of Barcelona not far from the hotel.
